This is a nicely framed work of woven silk tapestry depicting a spray of plum blossoms against a blue tapestry that represents a blue spring sky. This piece of art was made at the Hangzhou Dongfanghong Silk Weaving Factory which has operated since 1966. It has operated as a specialized unit in Hangzhou, creating detailed, machine-woven silk tapestries and is well-known for producing excellent silks and satins. This facility produced intricate silk paintings and woven portraits using specialized weaving techniques. Woven silk panels from this factory are now sought after collector's items. The Chinese translation on the left side of the piece provides the name of the company that produced the work of art, Hangzhou Dongfanghong Silk Weaving Factory. The characters on the right translate to Plum Flower.
